Ironman 70.3 Texas

Last minute decision to jump in to this one –

Ocean swim and flat bike and 3 loop run

Long drive over on Friday because it would be easier for me then making the times work to fly and break my bike down –

Worked out perfectly –

Stayed at Hotel Galvez (around 5 miles away from race site) if could change anything it would be to stay at the Moody Gardens hotel area and it would be perfect.

Met up with some of my Team Zoot SE team mates at the expo – it was very windy and rainy on Saturday – so it was a quick trip to check in

Ran into my favorite Head Referee for Ironman Ed!!!

Now off to hotel to get my bike ready and bring it back later for check in …

walked around the beach and checked out the area to kill some time ….

Flat Leisa – to lay everything out and get it all organized for the next day.

My new tradition is to flip over the M Dot – started this year in Chile πŸ‡¨πŸ‡±….

Now my bike is dropped off and hoping that the weather improves from today –

Now is race day –

It’s chilli and overcast with a nice wind blowing

Transition is set up –

Now to head to the beach –

Felt good in the ocean – def had to focus on sighting or you would drift off course but temps were good and felt better in water then out.

Heading out on bike – chilli and started raining but overall stuck within my parameters and had a great ride

Now off to the run πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Loved being able to see a lot of different team members from Zoot and many other people that I have connected with on social media. Loved this course and really enjoyed the race in general. Ironman did a great job all around πŸ™‚
